Groton House was once again hit with great sadness, as on August 5th we lost our dear Mrs. Angela Forbes Winthrop, the oldest resident of Hamilton, avid horsewoman and senior resident and supporter of Groton House Farm. Without Mrs. Winthrop's support, these events at Groton House would never happen. Our thoughts and warm wishes go to all of the Winthrop family in this time of sorrow.

It is with shock and sadness we report the death of Ian Gunn on Thursday May 26th. Ian had offered to weatherproof the judge's huts for the two-phase, and that's what he was busy doing when his heart stopped.

Ian was a dedicated and reliable volunteer, always ready to help in any capacity. He had been a fence judge, area steward, chief timer, controller and announcer for us, and he rarely missed an Organizing Committee meeting.

Groton House was important to him and he was important to us. We will miss him.

GHF Salute to Windrush Farm

2011 Ian Gunn Groton House Farm Volunteer Awards: In honor of Ian's dedication to Groton House, the organizing committee has renamed our Volunteer Award to be the Ian Gunn Volunteer Award. This year we had four very worthy recipients: Paul Pizza, Michelle Mercier-Link, Doug Link and Robyn Aldo, who have consistently delivered above and beyond in giving to our sport and event. We are honored to have them be the first recipients of the Ian Gunn Volunteer Award. Thank you!!!
