What is the difference between the Groton House Horse Trials and a typical CCI Three Day Event? Horse Trials and Three Day Events are extremely similar in that they typically take place over the course of three days. For both types, Friday is usually reserved for Dressage. Saturday is different for the two types of events, in that Three Day Events hold a Roads and Tracks phase, Steeplechase, and the Cross Country phase, whereas the Horse Trials only holds the Cross Country phase. The Sunday finale for both types of events is the Stadium Jumping phase.

What is Combined Training? Combined Training events consist of two phases: Dressage and Stadium Jumping. These two phases usually take place on the same day, with Dressage preceding Stadium Jumping.Contact the US Eventing Association for more information.
