2009 Division List The following USEA Recognized divisions will compete at GHF Horse Trials in June, 2009:
Open Novice, Open Training/Novice (T/N) Open Training, Open Preliminary/Training (P/T) Open Preliminary, Open Intermediate/Preliminary (I/P)
Dressage Schooling Show To be held in conjunction with the GHF Horse Trials, the Dressage Schooling Show is open to everyone regardless of whether or not you are competing in the horse trials. See the GHF Dressage Schooling Show page for details and the separate entry form.
Perpetual Trophies
The Jim Stamets Award: In memory of Jim Stamets, a close friend of Groton House Farm. Awarded to the lowest scoring Senior Training Rider at GHF I. Donated by Mandy Hogan and Josselyn Shaughnessy. Our 2009 recipient of this most honorable award is Carol Kozlowski who owns and rode Good Earth Bit O' Honey in the Senior Open Training B division, with a final score of 32,6 penalty points.
Janet Read Memorial Trophy: In memory of Janet Read. Donor: Jiffy Read. Awarded to the rider and groom of the Intermediate horse with the lowest dressage score at Groton House Farm Horse Trials. 2009 Winners: Megan Correia-Bittner and her Groom, who helped prepare Anyway for an amazing Dressage ride. Megan and Anywat had an amazing score of 22.7 after Dressage.
The Willowdale Trophy: Established in 2007, the beautiful Willowdale Trophy is donated by Willowdale Farm and Dick and Elaine Robson. It is awarded to the low scoring senior open novice rider. The 2009 winner of the Willowdale Trophy is Darrah Alexander riding Twist of Fate owned by Barbara Samuels, who won the Senior Open Novice C division on her dressage score of 28.5 penalty points.
Windrush Farm Trophy I: In memory of Banjo. Donor: Windrush Farm. Awarded to the oldest horse to finish eighth or above at Groton House Farm Horse Trials. 2009 Winner: the 23-year old Tank, owned and ridden by Abby Rolsten, who placed 5th in the Junior Open Novice B division after clean cross country and stadium rounds. This is the second year in a row that Tank and Abby have won this prestigious prize!
Muffin Cup: In memory of the beautiful and versatile little gray mare with the great big heart and personality plus. Donors: Gail Wong and Suzanne Mooney. Awarded to the lowest scoring Junior Training horse at GHF I. 2009 Winner: Hot Trot'n Twister, owned and ridden by Lauren Mair, who won the Junior Open Training division with a score of 37.1 points.
