Groton House Farm Horse Trials: June 29-July 1, 2018
The Groton House Farm Horse Trials will take place from June 29-July 1, 2018. Catering to Novice, Training, Preliminary and Intermediate/Prelim levels, it is a popular event for the local New England equestrian community.
Open Date: May 15, 2018. Close Date: June 12, 2018
The provisional 2018 Cross Country course maps will be published just prior to the event. To get an idea of what 2018 will look like, please review the 2017 maps on the Courses page.

The following divisions will compete at GHF Horse Trials in June, 2018
Open Novice, Open Training/Novice* (T/N) (USEF Endorsed/USEA Recognized)
Open Training, Open Preliminary/Training* (P/T) (USEF Endorsed/USEA Recognized)
Open Preliminary, Open Intermediate/Preliminary* (I/P) (USEF/USEA Recognized)

Dressage Schooling Tests
To be held in conjunction with the GHF Horse Trials, the Dressage Schooling Tests are open to everyone regardless of whether or not you are competing in the horse trials. See the GHF Dressage Schooling Tests page for details and the separate entry form.
The Jim Stamets Award: In memory of Jim Stamets, a close friend of Groton House Farm. Awarded to the lowest scoring Senior Training Rider at GHF. Donated by Mandy Hogan and Josselyn Shaughnessy. Our 2017 recipient of this most honorable award, for the second year in a row, is Anna Loschiavo who rode Cristin Roby’s horse Fernhill Quinsey to win the Senior Open Training B division, and finished on her dressage score of 30.5 penalty points.
Janet Read Memorial Trophy: In memory of Janet Read. Donor: Jiffy Read. Awarded to the rider and groom of the Intermediate horse with the lowest dressage score at Groton House Farm Horse Trials. 2017 Winner: Cornelia Dorr, who prepared and rode her horse Louis M for the winning Dressage ride, with an impressive score of 25.4 penalty points after dressage in the I/P division. Cornelia’s score was over 7 points better than the next best Intermediate Dressage test!
The Willowdale Trophy: Established in 2007, the beautiful Willowdale Trophy is donated by Willowdale Farm and Dick and Elaine Robson. It is awarded to the low scoring senior open novice rider. The 2017 Winner of the Willowdale Trophy is Jocelyn Hawe riding her horse Cadbury VT, who won the Senior Open Novice C division on her dressage score of 25.2 penalty points.
Windrush Farm Trophy: In memory of Banjo. Donor: Windrush Farm. Awarded to the oldest horse to finish eighth or above at Groton House Farm Horse Trials. 2017 Winner: the 23-year old Allie, ridden by Madi Luce and owned by Rebekah Hummel. Allie and Madi placed 4th in the Junior Open Novice B division.
Muffin Cup: In memory of the beautiful and versatile little gray mare with the great big heart and personality plus. Donors: Gail Wong and Suzanne Mooney. Awarded to the lowest scoring Junior Training horse at GHF. 2017 Winner: Instant Impact, owned by Shane Finemore and ridden by Isabel Finemore, who won the Junior Open Training division on their dressage score of 29.6 points.
The Lomax Cup, awarded to the lowest scoring Junior/Young Rider Open Preliminary horse and rider. The 2017 Winner of this cup is Katie Lichten and her horse RF Luminati, who won the JYOP division with a score of 25.7 points (a margin of over 12 points better than the next best JYOP rider, her sister Maddie).
